On the 12th of April 2015 at 11:50pm a 23 year old female from Kitchener was charged with Stunt Driving. A Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area of Homer Watson Blvd and Block Line Road, when they locked a grey Toyota motor vehicle on laser travelling at 105km/hr in a 50km/hr zone while approaching a round about.
When the officer stopped the vehicle, they discovered a 2 year child in the back seat. The driver was arrested and charged with stunt driving. Her drivers licence was immediately suspended for 7 days and her vehicle was seized for the same amount of time. If found guilty, a driver convicted of stunt driving could face a fine up to $10,000, imprisonment for a term of not more than 6 months, or to both. In addition, their driver’s licence may be suspended on a first conviction for not more than 2 years.
