(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A driver that failed to activate her taillights caught the attention of an observant officer this past weekend. At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed the Ford Escape travelling on Main Street South in Exeter and proceeded to stop the vehicle.
Upon speaking with the female driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening test was performed and the driver registered a fail. She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron Detachment for breath tests. She subsequently provided two samples of her breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 55 year old Sharon CAMPBELL from Exeter has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. She has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on May 14, 2015. She also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and her motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
