Daily News Release – Sunday, April 26, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 88 calls for service in the past 24 hours. Three people were arrested.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

On March 9, 2015 a 25 year old male was released from police custody for three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. The accused was to attend the Ontario Court of Justice as required to answer to the charges. On April 17 2015, the accused failed to attend court as required and a Warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. Shortly after 11am on April 25, 2015 the accused was located and arrested on King Street in Chatham. He was later released with conditions pending a future court date of May 12, 2015.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

On April 1, 2015 a 19 year old male was released from custody on a Recognizance of Bail with conditions. One of the conditions was for the male to abide by a curfew between 6pm and 6am. On April 19, 2015 Police found that the accused failed to comply with this condition and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 25, 2015 shortly after 9am the accused was located, arrested and held for a bail hearing.

Man Arrested for Uttering Threats

On Friday April 24, 2015 police responded to a domestic incident in Chatham. An investigation was conducted and on April 25, 2015 an 18 year old male was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm. The Chatham man was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere

During the evening hours, officers conducted RIDE spot checks throughout the Municipality. 97 motorists were stopped. As a result of the checks, a roadside test was administered and a 32 year old female was issued a 3-Day Licence suspension.
