Burn Victim Succumbs To Injuries – No Charges Anticipated

Waterloo Region, ON – On Tuesday April 28, 2015 shortly before 7am, two males known to each other were transported to hospital by emergency services for burn injuries following a disturbance in the area of Joseph Street in Kitchener.

A 43 year old Kitchener male who was transported to Hamilton Health Sciences Centre has succumbed to his injuries. A post mortem examination is scheduled to occur today.

Police are continuing efforts to contact the man’s family overseas and are not releasing his name at this time.

The other involved male, a 47 year old Kitchener resident, was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and is expected to be released.

As a result of information collected during the ongoing investigation, detectives are attributing the injuries sustained by both males to the deliberate actions of the deceased man. No charges are therefore anticipated.

Investigators have released the scene on Joseph Street, but continue their appeal for any witnesses.
