(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – A physical altercation, fueled by alcohol, between two brothers resulted in one of them being air lifted to a London Hospital with a life-altering injury.
On Sunday, May 17, 2015, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a male seen bleeding profusely on Proton Street North, Dundalk, in the Township of Southgate. The victim had sustained a severe laceration to his arm. The victim’s brother was arrested at the scene. The initial incident occurred inside their apartment on Owen Sound Street in Dundalk.
The accused, age 22, was charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday, May 18th. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2015 in Owen Sound.
The 19 year old victim remains in hospital.
Grey County OPP, with the assistance of Grey County OPP Crime Unit, continues to investigate the incident.
