Child Playing With Sparkler Sent To Hospital After Shirt Catches Fire

On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, a young child in the Cambridge area was treated at the hospital for burns after playing with a sparkler. The child’s shirt caught on fire in the family’s backyard, causing the injury. The child was being supervised at the time, and the injuries were deemed accidental. Waterloo Regional Police are reminding everyone to exercise extreme caution when allowing children around any product that causes sparks or flames, including fireworks or sparklers.
