Officers responded to a 911 call around 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning to a Westside residence. The female caller reported that her boyfriend had lost control and assaulted her. When the officers arrived the volatile situation had de-escalated. The couple after a night of drinking had gotten into an argument which then became physical first thing in the morning. The end result was the 25 year old female being struck in the face and then a full length mirror shattered over top of her head. Thankfully there were no serious injuries and no one required medical treatment.
Andrew Thompson, 24 year old currently from Hamilton was arrested at the scene without incident. Thompson was held in custody and appeared later in the day for a bail hearing on the charges of Assault with a Weapon. Thompson’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 11th.
