Stolen Property Recovered – Arrest

On June 3, 2015 at 7:28 p.m., Guelph Police observed a motor vehicle driving on Arthur Street North without front or rear plates. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled away at a high rate of speed. The officer did not engage in a pursuit. The vehicle was located shortly after parked at a home on Metcalfe Street. The police investigation at this residence led to the arrest a man and a woman as well as the recovery of stolen property that included a motorcycle that was reported stolen in August of 2014.

A 47-year-old Guelph man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft under $5,000, breach of recognizance, breach of probation and three counts of possession of stolen property. He was also charged with suspend drive and possess suspended drivers licence under the Highway Traffic Act. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 4, 2015.

A 40-year-old female has been charged with obstruct police. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 4, 2015.
