18 Year Old Airlifted To Hospital – Transport Truck Vs Sedan Collision

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and members of the OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TTCI), remain at the scene of a serious collision that occurred at the intersection of Perth Line 26 and Road 111 this morning.

Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 7:15 a.m., a Kenworth tractor trailer was travelling west bound on Perth Line 26. A Pontiac sedan travelling south bound on Road 111 crossed directly in front of the truck. The impact forced the Pontiac into the north ditch to the west of the intersection. The tractor trailer jack-knifed and ended up on the south shoulder overhanging the south ditch.

The driver of the Pontiac has been identified as Kourtney DAVIS (18) of Zorra Twp, she sustained major injuries and was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. The 61 year old truck driver from East Zorra did not sustain injuries.

Perth Line 26 between Perth Road 112 and Road 111 is expected to remain closed to traffic until approximately 3 p.m.

The OPP is continuing their investigation into this crash.

ROAD CLOSURE DUE TO SERIOUS CRASH

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising the motoring public to avoid Perth Line 26 east of Harmony due to a serious two vehicle collision at that location. Barricades are in place on Perth Line 26 at Perth Road 112 and Road 111.

Anyone travelling in or near the area is requested to obey the barricades and find alternate routes to your destination. Perth Line 26 will remain closed for an undetermined length of time
