Public Information Session – Text with 9-1-1

This week marks the launch of our new Text with 9-1-1

The Brantford Police Service welcomes members of our community and media partners to attend an Information Session regarding Text with 9-1-1.

WHERE: Brantford Police Service,

344 Elgin Street, Brantford

WHEN: Tuesday June 9, 2015 at 6:30 p.m.

WHY: The Brantford Police Service and the Canadian Hearing Society are hosting a public forum

regarding information about T9-1-1 (text with 9-1-1.) Members of the DHHSI (deaf, hard of

hearing, speech impaired) and/or non-verbal community require emergency services either for

themselves or someone else and they will now be able to communicate with 911 through their cell

phones.

Members of the community will receive valuable information on how the new system will work and what

an individual needs to do to register their cellular telephone.

The Canadian Hearing Society will provide an ASL interpreter.
