(ST. MARY’S, ON) – On June 6, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped her cruiser on Queen Street in St. Mary’s to deal with a youth on a skate-board in relation to a complaint.
When the officer had finished dealing with the complaint, she reversed the cruiser westbound in the eastbound turning lane, striking the left rear corner of a civilian’s vehicle stopped in the through-lane for red light. The collision caused a scuff-mark to the cruiser and very light damage to the civilian vehicle. No injuries were reported.
As a result of the collision investigation, Provincial Constable Randi RAWLINGS, a one year member of the Perth County OPP, has been issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Stop From Start Position – Not In Safety, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
