(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Friday July 03, 2015 shortly after 9 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting patrols on Perth Road 119 north of Gads Hill, when a fast moving north bound motorcycle was observed.
The officer activated the police radar and locked the motorcycle’s speed on the police radar in excess of 140 km/h. The posted speed limit in that location is 80 km/h.
James MACKENZIE (49) of London was pulled over and was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicle”, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
He is to appear at Stratford Court on July 28, 2015 to answer to this charge. His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days. In addition, his Yamaha motorcycle was towed from the scene and was impounded for a week.
