Hall Of Shamer Busted At RIDE Now Facing 10 More Charges

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A male wanted for failing to comply with his court release conditions is back in custody after he was arrested early this morning by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). At approximately 12:20 a.m. Huron County OPP officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) checkpoint at Morrison Line & Crediton Road when they observed a GMC Sierra pickup truck approach the checkpoint. As the vehicle got closer to the checkpoint the driver abruptly stopped and turned into a nearby laneway. This driving maneuver caught the officer’s attention and prompted him to go and check on the driver.

The investigating officer spoke with the driver and was able to identify him as a wanted person. The diver was subsequently arrested for the outstanding warrant. Further investigation revealed the driver was prohibited from driving due to previous driving convictions. He also held a suspended driver’s licence. In addition, the attached licence plates were not authorized for the pickup truck. Also, a search of the vehicle incident to arrest revealed the driver was in possession of an open bottle of liquor.

As a result, 45-year-old, Michael CHAPMAN from Goderich has been charged with 10 offences. He is facing charges of Fail to Comply with Recognizance, two counts of Driving While Disqualified, five counts of Driving While Under Suspension, Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor and Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle. He remains in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for today at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
