24 Year Old Faces Drunk Driving & Hit And Run Charges

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – On July 9, 2015 at approximately 4:05 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a fail to remain single motor vehicle crash.

A green Chevrolet pickup truck struck a commercial retail building on Richmond Street. The occupants of the truck failed to remain at the scene and left in the vehicle, traveling southbound on Saintsbury Line.

Assisted by information provided by citizens, police located the vehicle a short time later on Harold Court, and the vehicle occupants on Main Street.

It was determined that the driver of the vehicle had been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing.

As a result of the police investigation, 24-year-old Ryan O’REILLY, from Bluewater, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), and care or control over 80 mgs, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was further charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with fail to remain.

The accused was released by way of a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to answer to the charges in a London court on August 20, 2015.
