(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Friday July 10, 2015, shortly before 4:30 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a Saturn sedan pull into a parking lot along Wellington Ave South in Listowel. While speaking with the male driver, the officer determined that he had been drinking alcoholic beverages. A roadside breath test was administered which he failed. The driver was transported to the North Perth OPP Detachment in LIstowel where he also failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.
65-year-old Paul GRIFFIN of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with “driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on August 12, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charge.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of seven days.
