(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A Morris-Turnberry resident remains in police custody following his arrest yesterday afternoon outside of Wingham. The accused had been on the run from police after he attended a farmhouse located on B Line Road and made threats toward the owner of the property. After threatening the owner the suspect then fled the property on foot traveling north to a residence located on Howick-Turnberry Road. He forced entry into the home and proceeded to steal a power drill and articles of clothing. As the suspect was inside the home the owner returned home and confronted the male. Once he was directed to leave, he took off running from the residence.
With the assistance of the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and an OPP Canine Unit officers successfully tracked the male to a nearby woodlot. The suspect was taken into custody shortly before 2:00 p.m..
As a result, Donald WEBER, 49 years of age, from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
Utter Threats to a Person
Utter Threat to Damage Property
Two Counts of Theft Under $5,000
Break and Enter
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 23, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
