(Town of South Bruce Peninsula, ON) – On July 17, 2015, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, members of Bruce Peninsula OPP, and the West Region Emergency Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on George Street, Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
Resulting from the execution of the search warrant, police seized numerous prescription pills consisting of oxycodone, morphine, and clonazepam. Officers also seized offence related property that consisted of $800.00 cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances was $24,500.00.
Christopher BYERS (46 years) and Tammy BYERS (46 years) of South Bruce Peninsula are each charged with possession of oxycodone and clonazepam for the purposes of trafficking. They were both held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for July 20, 2015.
Richard BARTLETT (56 years) of South Bruce Peninsula is charged with possession of morphine and possession of oxycodone. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 13, 2015 to answer to the charges.
