(HURON COUNTY, ON) – Sunday, July 26, 2015 will mark six years since the death of Jason PEARSON. Jason, a resident of Waterloo, was 31 years of age when he was struck and killed in a fail to remain collision in South Huron.
At approximately 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2009 Jason, a pedestrian using the roadway was struck by a vehicle just north of the Grand Bend Motorplex on Grand Bend Line (County Road # 81). The driver that struck Jason failed to remain at the scene of the collision. Moments later a motorist came upon the collision and called for assistance. Jason was transported to hospital where he died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision.
Over the course of the investigation, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit has issued information regarding a vehicle of interest. The vehicle of interest is believed to have passed the scene and the driver and possible passengers may have information regarding the collision. Police would like to speak with the occupants of that vehicle.
The vehicle of interest is described as a dark coloured, extended cab pickup truck. The truck was pulling a large, enclosed trailer with dual wheels. The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on Grand Bend Line toward Grand Bend.
