(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) –Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have investigated three break and enters to businesses and one church located in Mount Forest between the dates of July 27 to Aug 4, 2015. The unknown suspect(s) forced their entry and stole small amounts of money.
In the event of a break and enter, contact the police. Leave the crime scene undisturbed until police arrive. Be prepared to provide information about the missing items. The police will need a clear description, value, and serial # for each item.
Consider these strategies to better secure your property.
Ensure exterior lights are operational
Consider leaving on an interior light
Lock all windows and ensure doors are properly closed and locked before leaving
Install an alarm and have it checked regularly
Leave cash drawers open to show no money has been left over night
Make regular bank deposits to minimize cash on hand
