Man Hunt In Listowel – Call Police Immediately If You See This Man

(LISTOWEL, ON) – Members of the Perth County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Perth County OPP Crime Unit are attempting to locate a wanted male who fled from police earlier today.

At around 1:00 p.m. on August 14, 2015, a Perth County OPP officer saw a stolen Ford F-250 pickup truck being operated on Wellington Street in Listowel. While attempting to evade police, the truck struck the police vehicle and drove south from Listowel.

A short time later, police received information that the Ford F-250 pickup truck was in a cornfield near the intersection of Line 84 and Perth Road 153. Officers approached the truck however the driver had abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine (K9) Unit have been called in and are assisting the Perth County OPP with this search.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 33-year-old Daniel YORKE from Palmerston. He is described as a white male, being 5’11” tall, weighing 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes, and is currently wanted for dangerous driving, disqualified driving, flight from police, assault with a weapon, assault and breach of probation.

Investigators would like anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts to contact the OPP immediately by dialing 911 or their nearest police authority. No attempt should be made to apprehend him.
