(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – Police have identified the victim’s in last night fatal motor vehicle collision between a motorcycle and pick-up truck.
The male driver of the pick-up has been identified as Robert FREDERICK, age 55 of St. Thomas, ON.
The male driver of the motorcycle has been identified as Kyle Alberto MELO, age 25 of London, ON.
The female passenger on the motorcycle has been identified as Kayla DEMELO, age 23 of London, ON.
Cause of the collision is still under investigation pending the results from OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators, postmortem examinations and witness interviews.

Original Media Release – Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a two vehicle fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred on Wellington Rd. at Ferguson Line, Central Elgin at approximately 10:07 p.m. on August 28th, 2015.
At the time of the collision two motorcycles were traveling north on Wellington Rd approaching Ferguson Line while a pickup truck was traveling West on Ferguson Line approaching Wellington Rd. Ferguson line at Wellington road is controlled by a stop sign. The pickup entered onto Wellington Rd. and into the path of the two motorcycles.
The first motorcycle, which was approximately 5 car lengths ahead of the second one, was able to swerve around the pickup truck and avoid a collision. The second motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of the truck.
The male driver (lone occupant) of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the motorcycle and his female passenger were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
Release of victims’ names is pending notification of the next of kin.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are currently on scene continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
Wellington Road remains closed between Ron McNeil and Reagan Bourne to facilitate the investigation.
