Early Morning Drunk Driver Arrested

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Tuesday October 06, 2015 shortly before 2:30 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer pulled over a Dodge pickup truck along Perth Road 131 south of Milverton.

While speaking with the male driver, the officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath. The officer administered a roadside breath test on the driver which he failed. The driver was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.

28-year-old John Daniel BOWEY of the Township of Perth East has been charged with “driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released on a Promise to Appear and has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on November 16, 2015, where he will have to answer to the charge.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of seven days.
