(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have identified the female driver of the Toyota sedan who succumbed to her injuries as a result of the single motor vehicle crash on Monday October 12th, as 86-year-old Joan WINDELER of Mississauga.
The Perth Road 119 was re-opened to traffic at 10:30 p.m.

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Perth Road 119 and Perth Line 56 (at the Topping curve).
On October 12, 2015, shortly after 4:30 p.m. police were called to the collision scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a car travelling west bound on Perth Line 56 approached Perth Road 119. The vehicle failed to negotiate a slight curve on Perth Line 56 as it nears the Perth Road 119 intersection. The vehicle entered a grassy area before crossing Perth Road 119 and striking a culvert on the south side of the road. The vehicle subsequently came to rest on its roof.
As a result of the collision, the lone female driver of the car was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The female has since succumbed to her injuries.
The OPP West Region Technical Traffic Investigation (TTCI) Unit is currently at the scene and is continuing to investigate this collision. The Perth East Fire Department (Milverton Station) and the Perth County EMS attended and assisted at the scene.
Traffic is being diverted around the scene, with road closure barricades having been placed on Perth Road 119 at the intersection of Perth Line 56A south of the collision scene. Barricades have also been placed on Perth Road 119 at the intersection of Perth Road 121, north of the collision scene. In addition a barricade is in place on Perth Line 56 at the intersection of Perth Line 56A.
The road is expected to remain closed until approximately 11 p.m. to allow for the removal of the vehicle and for a safe investigation of the scene.
The identity of the deceased female is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
