(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Saturday October 17, 2015, shortly after 3 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting patrols on Hwy 7 between St.Marys and Stratford when an extremely fast moving car was observed passing another vehicle.
The officer paced the northbound Buick and utilized a radar instrument to accurately record its speed. The Buick’s speed was locked in at 63 km/h above the posted 80 km/h speed limit.
The Buick was pulled over and the male driver, 25-year-old Martin Kyle SAUR of Stratford was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicle”, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. He is to appear at Stratford Court on November 24, 2015, to answer to this charge.
The Buick he was operating was towed from the scene and has been impounded for a period of seven days. The male driver also had his driving privileges suspended for a week.
