Cyclist Struck And Charged

  1. On June 23, 2015 at 8:15 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Delhi Street at Speedvale Avenue for a cyclist/motor vehicle collision. It is alleged that the motor vehicle turned and struck the cyclist as he rode through the crossover. Minor injuries and minor damage is reported.

    The 55-year-old cyclist has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with cyclist – ride in crosswalk.

    2. Impaired by drugs – arrest

    On June 23, 2015 at 7:06 p.m., the Guelph Police were called to the parking lot of Stone Road Mall for a male sleeping at the wheel of a parked car that was running. Police woke the male and observed a clear bag containing what appeared to be Crystal Meth. The male, who showed signs of impairment, was arrested. Further investigation discovered that he had failed to appear in court for an appearance earlier in the day.

    The 49-year-old Guelph man has been charged with care and control impaired by drugs, possession of a controlled substance and fail to re-attend court. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 24, 2015.

    3. Break and enter

    On June 23, 2015, the Guelph Police went to a Downey Road residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered sometime overnight through the rear door. No theft is reported.
