Waterloo Region, ON –On Friday June 26, 2015 just after 11am, emergency services responded to the 200 block of Lancaster St. W. in Kitchener for an assault, and found a 23 year old Kitchener man with serious injuries.
The victim was transported to hospital and subsequently air lifted to Hamilton for further treatment.
Dylan Darren Debreau did not recover and was pronounced dead in hospital last night.
The cause of death has been determined to be as the result of blunt force trauma. No weapon was used in the assault.
Edward Joseph Bush, 41, of no fixed address,was arrested on June 27 without incident and charged with Aggravated Assault. His charges have now been upgraded to Manslaughter in connection with the death of Dylan Debreau.
The victim and the accused were known to each other and police do not consider this a random act.
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Branch and General Division detectives. No further arrests are anticipated.
