200 Youths Swearing And Urinating In Public Prompt Calls To Police

On July 4th, 2015 at approximately 6:30 pm police responded to numerous complaints from residents in the area of Woodway Trail in the City of Brantford. The complaints were as a result of a large party that had gathered at an area home. Over 200 youths attended resulting in complaints of loud music, swearing, and urinating in public.

Police were alerted to a potential party earlier in the day and had attended the residence to warn the occupants that violations would be dealt with. The party was advertised via social media.

Upon arrival police located approximately 200 persons in the backyard of the residential property. Youths continued to arrive. Given the size of the crowd and the complaints received, police began to disperse the party goers. The crowd then spilled onto Candlewood Drive, Cedarland School, and Dunsdon Street. This resulted in numerous complaints from citizens regarding intoxication, and loitering in these areas throughout the evening.

Two persons from the Woodway Trail residence were charged with Mischief by interfering with any persons’ lawful use and enjoyment of their property.
