BPS Child Abuse Sexual Assault Unit arrest a 65 year old man for Sexual Assault
On July 4, 2015 an investigation began after a 16 year old young woman reported being sexually assaulted by a man known to her.
It was reported that on July 1, 2015, the victim while attending an apartment on Darling Street (300 block) was sexually assaulted by a 65 year old man (accused#1) who lived at the apartment.
Investigation revealed that the 16 year old victim had attended on numerous occasions to the apartment of the accused and the co-accused, a 42 year old woman. Prior to July 1, 2015 the victim would attend this apartment and engage in sexual interactions with other individuals for the purpose of sexual services.
It is also alleged that both accused benefitted from these interactions.
On July 9, 2015 shortly after 3:30 p.m. the B.E.A.T Officers attended at the apartment and arrested both accused without incident.
As a result of this investigation the following persons were arrested:
CAMPBELL, Larry, Ray 65 yrs old of Darling Street, Brantford is charged with the following;
Sexual Assault
Keeping Common Bawdy House
Communicate with anyone for purpose of obtaining sexual services from a person under 18 years of age
Receiving Financial or Material benefit from a person under 18 years of age
HATFIELD, Melanie, Theresa 42 yrs of age, also of Darling Street, Brantford is charged with the following;
Keeping Common Bawdy House
Receiving Financial or Material benefit from a person under 18 years of age
The accused were held in custody for a bail hearing on July 10, 2015
