On July 14, 2015, a 22-year-old Guelph male attended the Guelph General Hospital Emergency Department for medical treatment and was subsequently admitted. The male received care at the hospital until his death on July 15, 2015.
The Coroner attended to the Hospital and requested the Guelph Police Service to attend as well. Guelph Police Investigators were assigned to assist the Coroner.
As with all sudden death cases, the Guelph Police Service will investigate the matter as suspicious, until proven otherwise.

On July 16 an autopsy was conducted in Hamilton Ontario. The autopsy has determined the cause of death and as such the Guelph Police Service are no longer treating the death as suspicious. The cause of death will not be released by the police.
