At approximately 10:50 a.m. 9-1-1 Communicators tiered police, fire and paramedics to the intersection of 9th Avenue East (Highway 6/10) at 6th Street East, Owen Sound in response to a 4-vehicle collision that had just occurred.
Investigation revealed that a 2006 Smart Car travelling southbound on 9th Ave. East (Highway 6/10) disobeyed a red traffic signal, coming into collision with a Ford pick-up truck travelling westbound on 6th Street East. The Ford pick-up had entered the intersection lawfully. The force of the collision caused a chain reaction of collisions, with the Ford striking a Chevrolet pick-up truck, which collided with a Toyota Matrix.
