On July 21, 2015 Waterloo Regional Police and Kitchener Fire responded to a residential fire on Carwood Cres, Kitchener. On arrival smoke was observed coming from the roof and eaves troughs of the residence. KFD cut into the roof of the residence and discovered that the insulation had caught fire while the resident was doing home repairs. The fire was put out by KFD the fire caused approximately $50,000 damage. No one was injured.
