Update: Charged with first degree murder from stabbing on Anna Avenue

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Major Crime Investigators have charged Gino LANGEVIN, 45 years old, of Ottawa with first degree murder following the stabbing death of Gail Fawcett, 54 years old, also of Ottawa. This is the fifth homicide in Ottawa in 2015.

Gino LANGEVIN is scheduled to appear in court today.

Homicide investigation on Anna Avenue

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a homicide in the 200 block of Anna Avenue.

Shortly after 1:00pm, Ottawa Paramedic Service and Patrol officers responded to a call for service about a man in distress.

When a first paramedic arrived at scene, he witnessed the stabbing of a female in her 50s, by the man. She was transported with life-threatening injuries to a local hospital. The man, in his 40s, was soon after taken into police custody.

The victim has succumbed to her injuries. Major Crime has carriage of the investigation.

No further information will be released pending notification of next of kin.
