Guelph Police charge male for transporting passengers for compensation

On July 24, 2015 at 1:26 a.m. the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Gordon Street after observing it picking up passengers in the downtown area. Through further investigation, a 39-year-old Guelph resident has been charged contrary to section 39.1(1) of the Highway Traffic Act with “Pick up passenger for compensation, without authority.” Upon conviction, the driver will face a $365 penalty.
