The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 116 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested in that time
Man Arrested on Warrants
The Chatham-Kent Police arrested a male in regards to outstanding warrants. At around 1:30 pm, an Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Keil Dr. in Chatham. The driver of the vehicle on being stopped immediately ran from the vehicle and after a short foot pursuit, stopped and was apprehended by the Officer. The male was found to be wanted on a warrant held by this Service in regards to several theft related offences and was taken into custody. The Chatham male was held for bail.
Motor Vehicle Collision
Around 4:00 pm. on Saturday, the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a four car motor vehicle collision near the intersection of McNaughton Ave. W. and Doverdoon Dr. in Chatham. There were minor injuries sustained in the collision and damage is estimated at approximately $10000. A Chatham woman was charged for Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
Man Arrested on Warrants
The Chatham-Kent Police arrested a male in regards to an outstanding warrant. On Saturday, July 25, 2015, around 9:00 pm, an Officer spotted a male known to him as being wanted, walking on Lacroix St. in Chatham. The Officer stopped the male and arrested him on the warrant that was held by this Service. The Chatham male was held for bail.
Stolen Vehicle
The Chatham-Kent police are looking for the public’s assistance in locating a stolen vehicle from the Dresden area.
Sometime early Friday morning, unknown suspect(s) stole a 2005, metallic blue, GMC Denali with Ontario licence plate BWAT 689 from a residential driveway near Dresden. The vehicle has tinted windows and chrome rims.
