Man Charged with Mischief CK15023839
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a domestic related incident.
On August 8, 2015 just before 3:00 a.m. the man and his girlfriend became involved in a domestic disturbance and he was asked to leave her residence. Around 3:30 a.m. an observant citizen noticed the man deflating the tires of a vehicle parked on Wallace Street. Police were called and through investigation learned that the vehicle belonged to the man’s girlfriend. The woman was notified of the damage by officers. The man was not located at this time. The next day, the woman received a text from the man stating that he had repaired the tires and not to call police. Regardless, the woman brought her vehicle to be serviced and it cost her over $600 to have all four valve stems replaced.
Yesterday afternoon, officers located the man and he was taken into custody. The 48-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with mischief under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Woman Charged with Theft CK15024343
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman following a theft complaint in Chatham.
Yesterday afternoon, police responded to the Super 8 Motel on Michener Road in regards to the theft of bicycle. The owner left her bike in the staircase under the stairs. Officers viewed video surveillance and observed the woman walking out the door with the bicycle. Officers recognized the woman and found her at the Chatham Motel on Grand Avenue East in possession of the stolen bicycle.
Through investigation, officers further learned that the woman was currently on conditions to notify police of any change in address. She failed to advise police that she was evicted from her last known address and had to move.
The 29-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and failing to comply. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

CK15024394 – Sometime this past week, unknown suspect(s) stole a men’s Norco Malahat 21 speed hybrid bike from an unlocked garage on Chippewa Drive in Chatham. CK15024398 – Sometime over the past three weeks, unknown suspect(s) stole an air conditioner from a residence on Bear Creek Road in Camden Township.
