On August 13, 2015 at 3:54 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a five vehicle collision on Gordon Street South. It is alleged that at approximately 3:45 p.m., a pickup truck travelling north bound on Gordon Street south of Clair Road, drove into the back of a Chevrolet Cavalier that was stopped behind two more vehicles. The collision with the pickup truck and the cavalier caused a chain reaction type of collision, with those two vehicles. A fifth vehicle, an SUV, was also north bound Gordon, behind the pickup truck, and as a result of that sudden stop, struck the rear of the pickup. The driver of the cavalier, a 26-year-old pregnant female was transported to the Guelph General Hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the pickup, a 50-year-old male from Brampton and the driver of the SUV, a 44-year-old male from Guelph were both charged with careless driving and are scheduled to appear in court on October 6, 2015.
