Guelph Police Daily News Release – August 18, 2015

-On August 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the construction site at Wellington Street and Edinburgh Road to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered sometime overnight and stole copper wire and a wheelbarrow.

-On August 17, 2015 at 1:07 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Suffolk Street West residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through the unlocked front door while the resident was in the backyard. A theft of jewelry and money is reported.

-On August 17, 2015 at 11:09 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Celia Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) broke into the garage sometime between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. and stole two bicycles.

Theft from car

On August 17, 2015 the Guelph Police went to Alma Street North to investigate an overnight theft from a car. The culprit(s) stole two air soft guns and ammunition. One is a rifle style and the other is a hand gun.

Downtown arrest

On August 17, 2015 at 4:05 p.m., the Guelph Police entered a downtown establishment and observed a male known to them to be under conditions to stay out of the downtown. The male was arrested. A small quantity of Marihuana was located during this investigation.

A 48-year-old Guelph male has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of breach of OIC undertaking. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 18, 2015.
