On Tuesday August 18th, 2015 in the early morning hours, approximately 2:24 am, the victim, a 16 year old male from Barrie was walking in the area of the St. Vincent Bridge overpass in the City of Barrie. It was at this time that an acquaintance of the victim, 22 year old male from the Barrie area, walked up to the victim and sprayed him in the face with bear spray.
The victim suffered redness and a burning feeling to the face and eyes. He also had difficulties breathing. He attended the police station to report the incident. The victim stated that the male responsible for the attack feels that he may have stole some of his belongings when he was incarcerated.
The victim was treated at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
Police are still investigating the incident and attempting to locate the male responsible.

On the evening of Monday August 17th, 2015 Barrie Police Operational Services Officers were called to the area of Cundles Road East and Springdale Drive, Barrie in regards to a dangerous situation.
A 25 year old female from Barrie was the passenger in her boyfriend’s vehicle, 29 from Orillia. As they approached Cundles Drive East and Springdale Drive they saw yellow caution tape tightly pulled across the intersection. The driver, tried to stop, swerving, but was unable to and stuck the caution tape which did not break. The female then called the police.
While waiting for the police to attend the area a 16 year old male, also from Barrie and who was responsible for putting up the caution tape returned to the intersection to retrieve his bike. The female on scene began to educated the youth on the dangers and seriousness of his actions while she waiting for police.
Before police arrived to the area the 16 year olds mother arrived and began yelling and in an attempt to get her son’s bike from the female ending up hurting her with the bike. The female received minor injuries, mainly pain to the upper leg area.
The 16 year old male was charged with Mischief and held for a bail hearing. His mother was charged with Assault With A Weapon and was released with a September court date.
