Search warrant leads to arrests and stolen property

Beginning in July of this year, the Guelph Police initiated an investigation into the theft of bicycles occurring in Guelph.

On August 20, 2015, the Guelph Police executed a search warrant on Woolwich Street. Five arrests and the seizure of bicycles, tools and miscellaneous electronics were the result.

A 21-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and breach officer in charged undertaking. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 21, 2015.

A 41-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance (CDSA). He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 21, 2015.

A 34-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 21, 2015.

A 39-year-old Guelph female has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a controlled substance (CDSA) and two counts of breach of probation. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 21, 2015.

A 33-year-old Guelph female has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime. She will appear in court on August 28, 2015.

Break and enter

On August 20, 2015, the Guelph Police received the report of a break and enter to a Richardson Street residence. The culprit(s) entered a shed sometime overnight and stole a bicycle.

Break and enter

On August 20, 2015, the Guelph Police received the report of a break and enter to a Floral Drive residence. The culprit(s) entered the garage sometime overnight and stole a bicycle. This is the second bike theft from this residence since August 8, 2015.

Medical emergency downtown – updated

On August 19, 2015 at approximately 6:00 a.m., emergency services responded to a call at the corner of Wyndham Street and Quebec Street, by the fountain. A 53-year-old Guelph male was transported to the Guelph General Hospital and subsequently pronounced deceased. The police investigation has concluded as the death has been determined to be from a medical issue.
