Charges Laid In Luring Incident

The Waterloo Regional Police Major Case Branch – Internet Child Exploitation Unit Detectives have charged a 30 year old Cambridge female. The investigation stems from a report of Internet luring of a 15 year old male child from Waterloo Region. Between August 13th and August 21st, 2015, the accused and the victim conversed over a social network applications, eventually leading to an arrangement to meet in person. On August 25th, 2015, the female was arrested and charged with Luring a child and is scheduled to appear for a show cause hearing. Waterloo Regional Police Service remind all children to be aware of whom they are communicating with over the Internet especially while using social network applications. The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet.
