Guelph Police Daily News Release – Sept 01 2015

Suspicious Person

On September 1, 2015 at 12:08 a.m. Guelph Police attended to the Stuart Street area, where there was a report of a male going through back yards. Police located a male in a driveway of a residence who was not a resident of that home, the male fled on foot from the police. A canine unit was called to the scene and police located the male on another property.

A 44 year old Guelph male was arrested and charged with trespass by night and possession of stolen property. He was held for a bail hearing.

Theft of Wallet

On August 31, 2015 at 11:56 a.m. Guelph Police attended to a business on Silvercreek Parkway North, where there was a report of a theft. A female victim was in a department store in the changing area when a male allegedly took her wallet. Police were able to locate the male.

A 31 year old Guelph male was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and breaching his probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.

Impaired Driving

On August 31, 2015 at 6:23 p.m. Guelph Police were advised of a possible impaired driver entering into city limits. Police located the vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop on Foster Avenue and spoke to the driver. As a result of this traffic stop, Charles Janzen, a 51 year old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg.

He will appear in court on September 22, 2015.
