The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 130 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested, both of which were held for Bail.
Police Investigating a residential Break & Enter
On the 31st of August 2015 Police attended to a residence on Orchard Heights Drive, Chatham in response to a residential Break & Enter. Investigation revealed a quantity of electronics were removed from the residence. Male Arrested for Drug related Offence
During the evening hours of August 31st, 2015 Police responded to a suspicious male party in the area of Raleigh Street, Chatham. A short time later a 30 year old male matching the description was located. Investigation revealed the male was in possession of a suspected controlled substance. The male was arrested and transported to Headquarters where he was held for a Bail Hearing.
Police Arrest Female for Theft & Breach related Offences
During the early morning hours of September 1st, 2015 Police investigated a Theft complaint regarding a cell phone. Investigation resulted in the arrest of a 29 year old Chatham women for Theft and additional Breach related charges stemming from a previous incident. The female was subsequently transported to Headquarters pending Bail. Police were able to recover the stolen property and return it to the owner.
Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Initiative
Within the last 24 hours Police conducted spot checks at multiple locations within the Municipality with a focus on detecting & reducing Impaired Driving. Approximately 90 vehicles were checked, with no related offences or infractions.
