Guelph Police Daily News Release – Sept 18, 2015

Break and enter

On September 17, 2015 at 3:44 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Matthew Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. Culprit(s) damaged the side door to gain entry sometime during the day. No theft is reported in this incident.

Theft from cars

On September 17, 2015 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Parkview Crescent and West Acres Drive.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Bikes stolen from residences

On September 17, 2015 the Guelph Police received two reports of bicycles stolen from residences. The locations were Surrey Street and Chancellors Way.

Drive over 80 mg – arrest

On September 18, 2015 at 2:25 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Norfolk Street. Police spoke with the female driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. She failed this test and was arrested.

Melanie Bergsma, 39 years of Wesley has been charged with drive over 80 mg. She will appear in court on October 6, 2015.
