On Thursday October 8, 2015 at 9:35pm, a motor vehicle struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Ira Needles Boulevard and University Avenue, Waterloo. An SUV was exiting the round about South bound when a pedestrian began to cross on the cross walk. The driver of the SUV didn’t see the pedestrian and struck them. The pedestrian, a 17 year old Kitchener woman, suffered minor scrapes and was taken to Hospital by ambulance. The driver of the SUV, a 16 year old Kitchener woman, was charged with Fail to yield to Pedestrian. Waterloo Regional Police remind all drivers and pedestrians to safely enter roundabouts and follow the rules of the road.
