Update: On the 1st of November, 2015, police attended the residence of a male identified as the driver of the vehicle in relation to an incident on October 30 involving two pedestrians and a green Dodge van. The driver, an elderly Waterloo man, was apologetic and had not intended to scare anyone. A pellet gun was located under seat of the vehicle. At the completion of the investigation it was determined that no criminal offences had been committed. Police would like to thank the public for the information received about this incident.

On Friday October 30th, 2015, at approximately 2:35pm, two adult residents of Waterloo were walking in the wooded area bordered by Wideman Rd, Wilmot Line and Meadowsweet Ave in the city of Waterloo when they encountered a vehicle stopped on a footpath intended for pedestrians. A male in the vehicle was described as: white, 60 years old, heavy-set with a long white goatee, wearing a light coloured jacket, dark t-shirt, dark pants, white shoes and a white Gilligan” style bucket hat. The male motioned for the two males to his vehicle and showed them what appeared to be a handgun. Police responded however the vehicle and male was not located. The vehicle is described as an older model Dodge Caravan
