Guelph Police Weekend Report

Break and enter

On October 31, 2015 at 11:37 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Gordon Street residence to investigate a break and enter. It is alleged that a female walked in while the residents were home, took a television and left. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the female. She is described as white, short wavy blonde hair wearing a grey jacket and tights.

Break and enter

On October 30, 2015 at 7:49 a.m., the Guelph Police went to an Elizabeth Street residence to investigate a break and enter. A city meter reader noticed that a door was damaged and called police. Police cleared the residence but it is unknown at the time of this release if entry was actually gained.

Knife call at hospital

On October 30, 2015 at 6:18 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the Guelph General Hospital after security called advising they had just removed a knife from a female carrying it on her person. Investigation discovered that the female was breaching a condition of her Undertaking by carrying the knife and she was arrested.

Alyssa Tarnawski, 21 years of Guelph has been charged with carry a concealed weapon and breach of OIC undertaking. She will appear in court on November 4, 2015.

Impaired driver arrested

On November 1, 2015 at 2:27 a.m., the Guelph Police stopped a U-Haul truck that was driving at a high rate of speed on Stone Road. Police spoke with the male driver, determined he was impaired and he was arrested.

David McFadyen, 26 years of Dundalk has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on November 20, 2015.

Break and enter investigation leads to arrest

On October 29, 2015 a contractor working at a job site on Gordon Street found that a trailer had been broken into and approximately $4,000 worth of tools had been stolen. Investigation led to a suspect and a search warrant being executed at a Dean Avenue home on October 30, 2015. All of the stolen property was recovered and an arrest was made.

David Herron, 23 years of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property and traffic stolen property. He will appear in court on December 8, 2015.

Theft from cars

Over the weekend the Guelph Police received six reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Chancellors Way, Speedvale Avenue West, Kenwood Crescent, Marlborough Road, McElderry Road and Mountford Drive.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Fitness club locker thefts – arrest

On September 26, 2015 the Guelph Police began an investigation into the theft from lockers at a fitness club on Eramosa Road. On October 30, 2015 the investigation concluded with an arrest.

Tanner Page, 21 years of Guelph has been charged with mischief under $5,000, two counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of use stolen credit card, two counts of identity theft and breach OIC undertaking. He will appear in court on December 11, 2015.
