Police Called After Heavily Intoxicated Woman Falls After Exiting Vehicle

Owen Sound Police Services wish to thank a concerned citizen who observed a minivan driver fall after exiting her vehicle at a restaurant shortly after 10:00 p.m. Saturday. Concerned for her well-being, police were contacted.

Police investigation led to the motorist’s arrest. Breath samples provided to a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician resulted in readings 3 times over the legal limit.

The 65-year old driver is charged with operate a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood. She is released from custody and is required to attend her first court appearance on the 26th day of November, 2015. Her vehicle has been seized for 7 days, while her driver’s licence is suspended for 90 days.

If not for the concerned citizen’s call to police, this event may have lead to tragedy on our roads.
