(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members are investigating the overnight theft of an enclosed utility trailer that contained a zero-turn riding lawn mower. Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on November 30, 2015 and 7:00 a.m. on December 1, 2015 those responsible entered the parking lot of Miedema Country Meats located east of Exeter on Thames Road. Once on the property the suspect(s) defeated the locking device on the trailer hitch, proceeded to connect onto the trailer and drove away.
The stolen trailer is described as a black, 2015 Interstate Model 1 enclosed utility trailer. The trailer is equipped with a rear door and a side door. The trailer measures 12 feet in length by 7 feet wide. The trailer is valued at approximately $4,200.
Inside the trailer was a nearly brand new 2015 Columbia RZT MTD zero-turn riding lawn mower. The mower has a 54 inch cut and a 24 HP engine. This mower is valued at nearly $3,800.
Also stolen from inside the trailer were 500 collapsed cardboard boxes used for packaging meat.
