Alarm Scares Off Listowel Burglars

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Tuesday December 08, 2015, shortly after 4:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to Premier Farm Equipment located along Hwy 23 North of Listowel, where an alarm was activated in one of the company’s storage sheds.

A company representative arrived at the business shortly after the alarm was activated and discovered the man-door to the shed forced open. The unknown suspect(s) may have been scared off by the activation of the alarm system and had left the area just prior to the representative’s arrival.

This farm machinery dealership had been the victim of a machinery theft on November 03, 2015 when two new John Deere tractors and a large enclosed trailer were stolen from the property.

The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone with information about this shed break-in or the November 3rd theft to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000
