Guelph Police Daily News Release – December 02, 2015

Break and enter

On December 1, 2015, the Guelph Police went to a Crawley Road residence to investigate a break and enter. The owner was notified by the alarm company at 12:45 p.m. The culprit(s) damaged a side door but it is uncertain if entry occurred and no theft is reported.

Three car collision

On December 1, 2015 at 7:04 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a three car collision on Gordon Street just north of Wellington Street. This collision caused lanes on Gordon to be closed for approximately two hours. All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene and two of the drivers were transported to Guelph General Hospital with minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Downtown arrest

On December 1, 2015 at 5:30 p.m., Guelph Police observed a male in the foyer of 90 Carden Street that was known to have court imposed conditions to not attend to that address. Police attempted to arrest the male but he ran. After a brief foot chase and struggle, he was arrested.

A 31-year-old Guelph male has been charged with breach of recognizance and resist arrest. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 2, 2015.

Theft from cars

On December 1, 2015 the Guelph Police received five reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Marlborough Road, Riverview Drive, Hall Avenue, Paisley Road and Laird Road.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
